How to Use This Template
Update Weekly
The biggest mistake people make is waiting until review time to fill this out. By then, you've forgotten half of what you accomplished.
Set a weekly reminder (Friday afternoon works well) to spend 10 minutes adding:
- Code changes you shipped
- Design docs you wrote or reviewed
- Meetings where you drove decisions
- Times you helped teammates
- Positive feedback you received
Be Specific About Impact
Don't write: "Worked on the checkout flow"
Write: "Redesigned checkout flow, reducing cart abandonment by 15% and adding ~$500K ARR. Led a team of 3 engineers over 6 weeks."
The formula is: What you did + Quantified impact + Scope/context
Map to Your Rubric
If you're targeting a promotion, every win should connect to your company's leveling criteria. Add a "Rubric Dimensions" column to track which criteria each accomplishment demonstrates.
Common dimensions include:
- Technical excellence

- Scope/Complexity
Include the "Boring" Stuff
