Framework Setup

Define your promotion target and the criteria you need to demonstrate.

What is a Framework?

Your framework defines what level you're targeting and what criteria you need to satisfy. This becomes the foundation for everything else - projects and evidence are mapped to these criteria.

Target Level

The level you're trying to reach (e.g., Senior Engineer, Staff Engineer, Principal)

Company (Optional)

Your company name - helps AI provide more contextual advice

Adding Criteria
Three ways to build your criteria list

1. Upload a Rubric PDF

Recommended

Upload your company's official promotion rubric. AI will extract the dimensions and criteria automatically. You can review and edit before confirming.

2. Manual Entry

Add criteria one by one. Great for tracking informal expectations or manager feedback that isn't in the official rubric.

3. AI Assistant

Use the "Rubric Creator" mode in the AI Assistant to help generate criteria based on your target level and company context.

Criteria Types
Formal

From Official Rubric

Criteria extracted from your company's promotion rubric

Informal

Manager Expectations

Things your manager has told you to demonstrate, even if not in the rubric

Hypothesis

Your Best Guesses

Things you suspect the panel will care about based on past promotions

Required Criteria

Mark criteria as "required" if they're must-haves for your promotion. The dashboard and matrix will highlight coverage for required criteria specifically, helping you ensure you don't miss the essentials.

Promo Packet Template
Follow your company's exact packet format

Most companies have a specific template or set of questions for promotion packets. You can upload your company's template in the Framework page, and the Export feature will follow that structure.

Custom Sections

Add sections like "Executive Summary", "Business Impact", "Technical Leadership" with specific questions for each.

Submission Requirements

Document any requirements like "3 peer reviews required" or "Manager sign-off needed".

Template-Based Export

When you export, the generated packet will follow your template's structure with all sections and questions.
